The next generation of traffic management systems and centers (TMCs) is expected to process larger amounts of data, make more decisions in real time, automate their operation, and proactively manage and control traffic, coordinate, and share information with other systems and service providers to improve the safety and mobility of the facilities being managed. This two-part session highlights successful practices in which agencies have developed, enhanced, or integrated innovative technologies into the decision support subsystems to meet the future needs of different types of legacy traffic management systems and TMCs.
